There are many festivals and events in the area during the holiday season. Almost every town and village has a festival of some sort during the summer and there are many highly regarded professional events as well as excellent local festas.
Activities There is a large outdoor swimming pool (including child pool) with incredible views in the nearby village of San Venanzo, as well as in Marsciano, although it is advisable to check opening times in advance. Nearby activities also include, Golf, Hiking, Watersports, Horse Riding and Tennis, for example http://www.umbriaoutdoor.it/ (in Italian) which lists canyoning, climbing, spelunking and trekking activities.
Eating Out The area prides itself on traditional Umbrian cooking and restaurants are dotted around the nearby towns and villages, including San Venanzo, San Vito in Monte and Migliano (in the castle keep). Marsciano has a wider offering with several restaurants (e.g. Oasi, Rosatelli), plus bars and pubs in the centre and outskirts. Further afield lie L’Argine between Marsciano and the E45 and Cerquelle (with a swimming pool for customers in the Summer) on the road north-east from Marsciano, just after Cerro. Not to be missed is also the award winning Gelateria Stefania in Marsciano!
Festivals There are numerous festivals in the area but ones that deserve a mention are:- MaySagra degli Umbricelli Festival – Poggio Aquilone Pasta lovers should head for the festival in our village of Poggio Aquilone. The Sagra degli Umbricelli Festival is devoted to hand made pasta using just flour and water. Music and entertainment nightly from 7pm throughout the week. The date is usually towards the end of May.

Museums and Crafts Madonna del Bagno (20 km, 35 minutes) is a chapel unlike most, it is a place of pilgrimage for those who are ill or who are grateful for being healed. This gratitude has been expressed with the affixing of maiolica tiles, many dating back to the 17th Century. http://www.madonnadelbagno.it/ Deruta (25 km, 35 minutes) is a maiolica maker mecca, home of hand decorated pottery and tiles of all kinds. Monte Castello di Vibio (25 km, 40 minutes) houses the world’s smallest theatre with just 99 seats, which first opened in 1808. http://www.teatropiccolo.it/ Torgiano (35 km, 45 minutes) offers a museum of olive oil and one of wine. http://www.lungarotti.it/
Useful Information The nearby village (2 km) of officially 78 inhabitants, has a mini market, a small bar and a butchers open on Tuesday mornings. Banks, supermarkets, internet cafés, a post office and most shops (and estate agents!) can be found in Marsciano (10 km, 20 minutes) with an open market day every Tuesday morning.
